Karlovac -Rijeka – Milano
I spend my last day basically travelling from Karlovac to Milano. In the morning, I catch the bus to Rijeka, also known as Fiume, whose history is well-known to Italian people, since it belonged to Italy before WWII. The entrance to Rijeka is particularly scenic, with the city appearing from the top after circumventing a mountain.
I have two hours free to explore the city, since my next bus is around midday. There is a very beautiful church in front of the bus station, with some nice paintings on the external walls. In the center, instead, there are even some Romans ruins.
Il mio ultimo giorno è quasi interamente di viaggio, da Karlovac a Milano. In mattinata prendo un bus per Rijeka, anche conosciuta come Fiume, la cui storia è ben conosciuta agli Italiani in quanto appartenuta all'Italia prima della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. L'entrata a Rijeka è particolarmente scenica, con la città che appare improvvisamente dall'alto dopo aver aggirato una montagna. Approfitto di un paio d'ore di cambio per esplorare un po' la città, dato che il bus successivo è a mezzogiorno. Proprio davanti alla stazione c'è una chiesa con dei bellissimi dipinti sulle mura esterne. In centro si trovano invece addirittura alcune rovine di epoca romana.

After Rijeka, I reach Trieste with another bus. From there, the last journey, this time by train, to my starting point: the Milano Central Station. The trip discovering these two beautiful countries, Croatia and Bosnia, is over. New lands, new people, new experiences that will be impressed in my memory. I have just finished to read other two pages of that book called “World”, but many of them remain unread.
Riparto da Rijeka verso mezzogiorno, e con un altro bus arrivo a Trieste. Da qui, l'ultimo viaggio, stavolta in treno, verso il mio punto di partenza: la stazione centrale di Milano. Il viaggio alla scoperta di questi due affascinanti Paesi, Croazia e Bosnia, è terminato. Nuove terre, nuove persone, nuove esperienze che rimarranno impresse nella mia memoria. Ho appena finito di leggere altre due pagine di quel libro chiamato “Mondo”.. ma molte altre rimangono ancora da leggere.
