Sarajevo-Jajce
My plan for the day is to wake up early and catch the bus at 8.30 to Jajce, a small town in the center of Bosnia. Unfortunately, during the night I suffer the effects of the (too many) beers of the evening before.. so the plan changes. I take the next bus at 13.30, after saying goodbye to Dawid and Graeme, who are heading to Belgrade.. our roads divide.
Il piano per la giornata è di svegliarsi presto e salire sul bus delle 8.30 per Jajce, una piccola cittadina nel centro della Bosnia. Sfortunatamente, durante la notte soffro gli effetti delle (troppe) birre della sera prima.. quindi i piani cambiano. Così prendo il pullman delle 13.30, dopo aver salutato Dawid e Graeme, che sono invece diretti a Belgrado.. le nostre strade si dividono.
The journey to Jajce is quite long, again by bus, about 3h30. The countryside is less beautiful than before, but still enjoyable. I arrive in Jajce at 3pm. The main attraction of the city is the big waterfall really close to the town. I walk by it when going to the hostel, and it's really impressive. Actually, it is strange to see such a big waterfall so close to the center of a town.
Il viaggio verso Jajce dura, di nuovo in pullman, circa 3h30. Il paesaggio non è eccezionale come prima, ma ancora piacevole. Arrivo a Jajce verso le tre del pomeriggio. La principale attrazione della città è una grande cascata molto vicina al centro. Ci passo davanti sulla strada per l'ostello, ed è davvero impressionante. É strano trovare una cascata così imponente così vicina al centro di una città.

My hostel is a bit far from the center, so it takes me a while to get there. When I arrive, I discover that I am the only guest! Apparently there are not so many tourists in Jajce.. and this supposition is confirmed later on in the afternoon, when I walk through the streets of the center. In fact, I have the impression that everybody look at me. I feel like an alien! I am probably the only foreigner in the town.
Il mio ostello è distante dal centro, quindi ci impiego un po' a raggiungerlo. Quando vi arrivo, scopro che sono l'unico ospite! Apparentemente non ci sono molti turisti a Jajce.. e questa ipotesi viene confermata più tardi, quando mi aggiro per le vie del centro. Infatti, ho l'impressione che tutti mi guardino.. mi sento un alieno! Probabilmente sono l'unico straniero in città.

The city is built inside some medieval walls. I walk around only for a while, since I am particularly tired. I am struck by the presence of many stray dogs in the streets. People just seem to ignore them, and the other way around. And as everywhere in Bosnia, there are still buildings destroyed by the war.
Jajce è costruita all'interno di mura medievali. Esploro un po' le vie principali, ma sono particolarmente stanco. Mi colpisce la presenza di parecchi cani randagi per le strade. La gente sembra semplicemente ignorarli, e viceversa. E anche qui si trovano edifici distrutti dalla guerra.

I am starving, so I go into a small restaurant where I eat some good meat soup for just 2 €. I speak for a while with the owner, who tells me that the problem of the dogs is in fact a major issue in Bosnia. This is a problem especially for children, who try to play with the dogs increasing the chanches to be bite.
Sono davvero affamato, quindi mi reco in un piccolo ristorante dove mi gusto una buona zuppa per appena 2 €. Parlo un po' con il proprietario, che mi racconta che in effetti il problema dei cani randagi è serio in Bosnia. Questo è un problema in particolare per i bambini, che tendono ad avvicinarsi per giocare.
I am really tired and the town is not exciting me too much for the moment. I don't know why, but it makes me feel a bit.. sad. So I decide to go back to the hostel to have some rest and recover strenght for tomorrow.
Forse a causa della stanchezza, la città non mi entusiasma particolarmente per il momento. Non so perché, ma mi dà una certa sensazione di.. tristezza. Decido quindi di tornare in ostello per riposarmi e recuperare forze per l'indomani.
